・The headwaters of a river that flows from Kitaazumi-gun, Nagano Prefecture through Itoigawa City, Niigata Prefecture, and empties into the Sea of Japan (total length: 58 km)
・It is a natural environment conservation area designated by Nagano Prefecture, and a promenade etc.
・The source of the Himekawa River is a habitat for a colony of Adonis ramosa and many wet plants.
・Himekawa Headwaters Nature Exploration Garden (Himekawa Headwaters/Oyami Wetland) The park is privately owned and protected.
※Entry and collection other than the sidewalk are prohibited.
・You can go back and forth between the Himekawa headwaters and Oyumi wetlands by a forest road (one lap takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes)
